I am in the beginning stages of making my armor and I was wondering if anyone has any pointers for making a kidney belt.

For example:

How do I figure out what the best width would be for myself?

What is the best way to have it fastened? Or is it best to have it permanently riveted closed?

Where do I want it to sit on my hips?

Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Sincerely,

Your neighborhood Squire

I'm in the process of making new armor, I'm kind of in the planning faze. I'm kind of going off my old one and what I want. I'm focusing on a flexible armor. So for the Kidney belt its going to be straight along the bottom, it's going to be narrow on my sides, it'll come up around the gut area and back. Basically I'm keeping it under my ribs so I can bend with no problem. Also I suggesting straps of some sort, I'm gonna use 2 or 3 little straps with buckles to help keep it from rotating on me. I hated that on my old one. I suggest studying pictures online, you can see what they're doing.

let me know if you need anything
