All members of the "Ravens of Vidar" are required to come up with a person symbol. This is what I came up with. Please let me know what you think.

Alright Falgor, Not bad, I think it could use a little tinkering. Walk me through the meanings of the various symbols. The overall look is good, but I do not care much for the style of the axe, or sword that you have chosen (personal preference, likely a Norse thing... ). I am suprised you did not include the Raven in the design. I am interested to hear what this is meant to say about you.

Kinsman Oron the Wolf
A hard, lean, man of middle age, with long brown hair, and a handle bar mustache. An obvious veteran of many campaigns, wearing light leather armor. A short sword is strapped to his left hip, a large knife rests against the back of his wide hero's belt, and a small oval shield hangs over his shoulder.

Falgor now,
Sorry it took so long to respond. The axe is suppose to be a
dwarven Urgrosh, wich is pretty much a six foot long axe with a spear
head at the other end. It is there to represent my spirit and my roots
in dwaven culture. Though I suppose I could have made it with more of
a norse design. I'm going to try that. I'm thinking about removing
the sword. It kind of makes the Urgrosh look smaller. Plus I can't
think of a reason to have it on there besides the fact that I like
fighting with the sword. The character near the bottom is is Tolkien
Rune Script for “torment.” The character at the top, teiwaz, is to
show that I am a worshiper of Tyr. The supposed magical reasons for
teiwaz include protection, victory, strength, stregthening the will,
and healing a wound. I made it into a knotwork design in order to help
show that I have a celtic heritage. I didn't include a raven because
eventually this symbol will be on my shield. Not to say that I
couldn't have used a Raven though. Thanks for asking. Any advice
would be appreciated.

Well, for Teiwaz, I would use a more rune-like character like or Perhaps loosing the sword, and using the urgrosh to split the field, maybe scaling the axe head down a little might help it appear longer, as well

I am definatley diggin #4 personally, but #2 is also impressive looking. I definately like the more spear-like tips that you chose for these variations. Keep up the good work Falgor.

I was kind of leaning toward #4 or #2 aswell. The first one I used was taken right out of a D&D book, so I should have known better.

I wouldn't use the "knot work" like that. if you wish to invoke the power of the rune, it should be done in the style that oron posted. preferably done by hand as well.
plus you version reminds me of the sold "stussy" icons from the early 90s.
out of curiousity, what makes you a follower of Tyr?

I worship Tyr for his bravery, his honesty , and his strength; all of wich are traits that I strive to emulate.
